Hi bunnies, this is me. Warning that I am going to say the word fuck in the next sentence if you need to leave the building!
Fuck the fascists. Also here are some shows and events I’m doing this summer.
The TLDR of it
June 21-28: Teaching at a residency Kettle Pond, a generative writing retreat in Paul Smiths, NY. *(there are a few secret spots left so you can still apply, click here!)
July 2: Doing a set at Idiots Hour, 192 Allen Street, New York NY
July 16-19, 7PM: Gay Divorce at the Brick Theater Aux
September 20-21: Gay Divorce at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Vox Populi
I’m also figuring out dates for a few other shows so stay tuned :)
And now, some details for my big readers…
Kettle Pond
is a truly blissful experience in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been (and I’ve been to the midtown Claire’s!)
The fascists definitely would not want you to come, because it’s a great place either to vibe out and kayak and meet cool, talented people, while staring at beautiful trees and lakes, or to do your own writing, or to attend readings, lectures, and fabulous workshops–one of which will be taught by me!
Yes, I’m very excited to be teaching (*exploring my pedagogic practice*) at Kettle Pond which to clarify is a generative writing conference that takes place at a magical forestry college called Paul Smiths located on a pristine lake in the Adirondacks. Check it out, cool guys.
Pristine!
If you are curious, here is some more about the generative workshop I’ll be teaching:
we’ll be thinking about the voice in different genres and mediums, going beyond the traditional understanding of the reader's voice at a Literary Reading™ and thinking about how we can and do develop and individuate our voices through a panoply of other embodied formats that are not generally considered to be part of the author's cultically "Authoritative Voice." These include poetry "talk pieces", screenplays, monologues, stand-up comedy, the academic lecture, the social media post (e.g. poems written and formatted for the Instagrammable screenshot, epic captions from authors ), the Notes app screenshot, and memes!
I’m also going to teach a Pilates-slash-cultural theory class, which is what? We will be finding out together! But definitely ties into a larger project I’m developing, the general idea of which stems from my interest in the “work” we are doing when we work out, labor-wise, as well as the weird magic of somatic movement, not to mention my interest in BEING A DANCING MACHINE… In fact, remember the dance show I mentioned a couple months ago? Ecstatic, heady, delirious, Black Swan, “things only professional ballerinas understand” reels, etcetera!

The Gay Divorce
I’m bringing my developing show The Gay Divorce to The Brick Aux in Williamsburg on the 16, 17, 18 and 19th at 7PM.
Come see the show which is no longer in its infancy but kind of a big toddler that keeps falling on its butt. Want to know what kind of butt? Here’s what the promo says!
Get in, loser, we’re getting divorced! From the twisted mind of sad award-winning clown Cecilia Corrigan comes a nightmare romcom set in a haunted house of gay wedding planning, bitcrunched horror tropes, and Barbie-doll playhouse rituals.
Do you crave safety while everything collapses? You want to kill the pain but keep it cute? You wanna fEeL sAFe & SUcCessFuL and validaTED? You want to watch the patriarchy haunt girl-on-girl action like a dang creepy ghoul?
Then this show is for you! And for anyone who’s ever had a bad ex, ever used a credit card, anyone who’s ever seen a convertible and thought “nice,” anyone who’s ever seen Alien (1979), who’s googled “am i gay,” or who’s had a ring finger.
Join us for this comedic confessional from a Real Housewife of failed queer life-maxxing!
If you didn’t catch it, we did a tiny work-in-progress version of the show at Torn Page in April. It was intimate and electric and hilarious, with production support from theater genius Tony Torn and visionary costuming from my brilliant friend Lauren aka Acidcat.

I’ve really loved putting this show together: it pulls on many of the same threads as the Pilates project and my workshop: poetry springboarding into comedic voice and embodied movement, fed through a gonzo grinder of slapstick, camp, and horror. Real messy bitch shit.
The Gay Divorce will be going to Philly for this year’s Fringe Festival, September 20 and 21 at the shagadelic Vox Populi (where we did our Christmas Halloween show last December). World tour much?
In closing… the reason for the season
Oh Happy Pride!! If you’re reading my substack you’re gay, congratulations. At least for this month, and who knows, maybe you’ll get lucky and it’ll stick. Gay levels are peaking across the country and the lovely Trauma Spice community is no exception, so don’t forget to observe the reason for the season… you know what to do!!
What an amazing creative machine you are! So many cool things are happening, I love it… That lake sure looks pristine, wish I could dive in and join in the fun. Good luck with all of it super queen.!
